Most people around my children’s school know me or know of me, some of them know that I’m a creative type, with only a few who really know what I get up to in my few, precious moments of spare time. So when the opportunity of the school art show came up, I thought I would exhibit the pieces that I did a few years ago to show my creativity.
It’s quite a nerve wracking experience, it is like showing your soul but you know let people in and they can surprise and lovely things can happen.
I had many sales from the exhibition which made my heart jump for joy including this lovely stained-glass inspired piece using ripped paper and another exhibition is now in the pipeline.
As well as exhibiting at the art show, my lovely friend and I were in charge of decorating the hall in a rainbow of paper star garlands. It was an art installation in itself!! The end result was amazing and it was a shame to take it down when the show was all over but it wouldn’t have survived the boy’s indoor soccer!
Well until next time.
Sorry I’ve been absent for a while due to some changes in my work life. I wanted to show you what I have been up-to recently and what I have just put on my Etsy shop. This is my latest embroidery of some cheeky chickens eating flowers in a garden.
I love the combination of colours of duck-egg blue with cream and sand. It reminds me of the various shades of eggs available. The greeny eggs come from a friend and I have blown them so I can keep them for decorative purposes.
I have used suffolk puffs with french knots and satin-stitch.
I have used a variety of fabrics including silk for my embroidery. The artwork would add a country-living feel to any house. Please visit my shop to check out the new embroidery and all my other products.
Since putting up the shop window at Skyring Architects, I’ve been busy putting new things into my Etsy shop. One of the new things that I’m excited about is my range of paper garlands, in beautiful shades but I can create them in whatever shade or hue you may like – well, within the range of colour cardstock that I have available anyway!!!
Apricot, Peach, Mint, Coffee and Cream Spot Bunting.
A mix of the Apricot, Peach, Mint, Coffee and Cream Spot bunting with the Aqua, Sky Blue, Lavender Blue, Coffee and Cream Spot bunting available on my Etsy shop.
Aqua, Sky blue, Lavender Blue, Coffee and Cream Spot Bunting. I had fun taking these arty shots!!
I love circles so I’m glad that I could incorporate a circle into my packaging, I think it looks rather cute all parcelled up and ready to go!
It’s not just spots that I have got available but triangular bunting as well in pink and yellows, great for a girls bedroom or celebration!
and red, white and blues!! Ideal for a boys bedroom or birthday!!
If you are arranging a celebration or just want to decorate your child’s bedroom or use as gift decoration, I would love to hear from you. Please come and visit my shop at www.etsy.com/au/shop/LilibetStanley
Until next time.

Hello, Happy New Year!!
I’m back from my Summer holiday and I’ve been busy and have so much to tell you!!
First of all, I’m going to share with you some photos of my window display at Skyring Architects in Bardon, Brisbane. The photos are not as good as I want, as it was a very bright day yesterday so there was a great deal of reflection so I’m going to go back on a not-so-bright day. However, it will give you an idea as to what I’ve been doing in my long holiday.
I decided that it was an ideal opportunity to show off all that I can do with paper and thin card so the table that you can see is made from Canson 240gm card, glue and some small stones inside the table legs to make sure it stays in one spot!
The team at Skyring Architects were so lovely to deal with and I’m very thankful for this opportunity to show my work. My bespoke “Tuscania” artwork is in pride of place in the window. The print is available in my Etsy shop, the original artwork is made from hand-torn paper using pattern inspired from European Gothic architecture.
The table took a lot of patience and sore fingers from cutting but I was pleased with the result!
My Paper Garlands are going to be for sale on my Etsy website in the coming days.
So are my Greetings cards!
Well, it’s good to back into the day-to-day of normal life and I’m looking forward to sharing with you my my trip to the beach, the country and everything else!
Until next time.
Hello, I know I’ve been a bit quiet on the blog side of things recently, sorry about that! I have been run off my feet getting all my work together to put up an exhibition at Ashgrove Library in Brisbane. Yesterday, the artwork was hung up and it’s on until Christmas Eve. If you live near by, please come along and check it out.
All my original artwork is made from hand-torn weave printed cardstock onto watercolour paper.
I’m sure you can appreciate it can take hours tearing little bits of paper to achieve such results!
Prints of the originals will be available on my new Etsy shop. I can discuss selling original artwork and I am open to commissions as well. It’s very exciting that it is all coming together.
My first print which is available on Etsy is in the colour range of peacock teal, moss green and pistachio. www.etsy.com/au/shop/LilibetStanley
My artwork is inspired by stained glass windows and my love of repetitive pattern. All individual pieces are torn by hand using Kaisercard cardstock.
The cushion on display is one that I knitted years ago though not for sale! I have many talents!
This is a close-up of the print of the artwork!
Whereas this is a close up of the actual hand-torn artwork.
I know it has taken me a while to get my venture up and running but I think it has been worthwhile. Over the next few days and weeks, I will be adding more to the shop but I have to start somewhere!
All my artwork is original and the copyright belongs to me, Lilibet Stanley. I politely ask that you please do not use my images or reproduce my images unless you have asked my permission.
Thanks and until next time.
